A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, between the National Technical University of Athens and V Group of Companies.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the National Technical University of Athens by the Honorable Rector, Professor Andreas Boudouvis, and on behalf of V Group, by its Chairman, Mr. Vyron Vasileiadis.
The agreement is based on ten pillars of action, including a student support program and the engrossment of graduates; a program of technical support for students; an annual schedule of visits to the Group’s Facilities; a student internship program; competitions and rewarding innovative proposals and ideas from students; training workshops on Sustainable Development and the Circular Economy.
More than 300 professionals, mainly young graduates of various specialties, make up the human resources of the V Group. The central axis of all activities is sustainable development, environmental protection, and the creation of added value for local communities.
The adoption and application of these principles can be seen in V Group’s new investments in Renewable Energy Sources, the integration and implementation of best practices in plant structures, the carbon offsetting, and the implementation of a strategy for the full utilization of waste (Zero Waste) and zero emissions.
Shortly after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Mr. Vyron Vasileiadis stated:
“It is a given that the activities of a Business Group are based on the experience of its executives and its infrastructure. They are judged by results and rated by the market. However, we firmly believe that the above is not enough and requires the added value of the academic quality. With the primary objective of protecting the scientific integrity of our activities and highlighting the importance of the academic work of the National Technical University of Athens, as well as the value of its graduates, today we acquire an important scientific companion with global prestige”.
On behalf of the NTUA, the signing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. George Dimopoulos from the School of Naval Mechanical Engineering, while Vyron Vasileiadis was accompanied by Konstantinos Theodorou, Chairman and CEO of VEN Engineering, and George Sarigiannis, Director of Communication and Strategy of V Group.
